TLC Centers

In the wake of the devastating floods that struck Sindh and Balochistan in Pakistan in 2022, the Junior Jinnah Trust (JJT) recognized the urgent need to provide educational support to affected children. Many private and government schools were completely destroyed by the floods, leaving local children without access to education. In response, JJT quickly initiated its Temporary Learning Centers (TLC) program to ensure that these children would not lose out on their education.
JJT set up TLC centers in the affected areas, hiring local teachers to provide quality education to the children under the shelter. The TLC centers were equipped with necessary learning materials, stationeries, and other educational aids to provide the students with a conducive learning environment. JJT also provided the students with school uniforms, shoes and bags to promote a sense of belonging and pride in being a student. The JJT also provided mentorship and counseling support for the students for their mental and emotional well being. JJT’s TLC program was designed to not only help the children catch up on their studies but also to provide them with a sense of normalcy and hope in the face of such a devastating disaster.
